My book came 12 days early! W00t!
This means I can have it when I go on holiday (if I haven't finished it beforehand, which seems likely).
For those that don't know, the book is 'longing for wisdom- the message of the maxims' by Allyson Szabo.
I have read the first few chapters and it's good. I have not been utterly disgusted by anything so far. ;) I've disagreed with a few things in the intro but I put that down to a difference in worldview and methodology. Dosen't really affect anything all that much.
The interpretations of the maxims themselves are good so far. Some of them are different to how I interpret them, but still perfectly relevant and valid which really makes me think. The exercises at the end of each section are a wonderful touch.
Overall, looks promising!
In addition to this, I bought some new candles to represent hestia.
Before hand I used a poor quality tealight in a rather ugly purple holder. I never ever liked that set up, it had no aesthetic feel to it at all.
These candles were a set of 3 big ass pillar candles in varying sizes. They look brilliant!
I've been searching for similar for a while but it's pretty hard to find pillar candles that aren't either scented or coloured (I'm picky about these matters, I want my altar to match the rest of my room).
After my ritual for the 12 today I wanted to take a picture but failed to locate my camera. Boo hiss boo.
